Looking back at 2023, our dedicated focus on the three pillars of growth—telecommunications services, managed telecommunications network services (MTNS), and Cloud & IoT, has yielded fruitful results, making it a year marked by significant achievements and positive developments.
A standout moment for Telecommunications segment was our recent appointment as the authorized reseller of Starlink in Malaysia. This strategic development solidifies our position as an integrated telecommunications and digital solutions provider. The overwhelming interest from industries such as oil and gas, telecommunications, shipping and maritime, financial services, and plantations underscores the effectiveness of our role as a network integrator in addressing diverse customer needs. Another notably progress made in voice business, was the introduction of our own brand, NexVois, an advanced, fully virtualized cloud PBX solutions tailored for mid to enterprise-grade businesses. We’ve also strengthened our voice offerings by incorporating omni channel AI-ready features.
The Managed Telco Network Services (MTNS) segment continues to thrive amid the large-scale telco engineering and USP project, JENDELA. While we constantly review our operational procedures to ensure efficiency and uphold safety measures, our primary goal is to attain energy sustainability. The shift from conventional commercial power to solar energy at the USP sites aligns with REDtone’s ESG blueprint, reaffirming our dedication to fulfilling environmental, social, and governance obligations.
Our Cloud & IoT Services business continues to gain momentum, particularly in Smart Farming. Our strategic partnership with MDEC and the Ministry of Agriculture has resulted in substantial increases in nationwide deployments. The introduction of ‘Mylatih,’ a MOOC training platform for farmers, has garnered tens of thousands of sign-ups. These developments further solidify our leadership position and underscore our commitment to transforming our nation’s agricultural sector.
REDtone has won a total of 46 awards to date, including two new ones in 2023. Winning The Edge Centurion Award for the “Highest Return on Equity Over 3 Years” in the combined sector of Telecommunications, Media & Utilities for the second consecutive year is a remarkable feat. Additionally, we received the “HRD Award 2023 in Human Resources Development.”
The latter recognition holds a special place in my heart as “Learning” is one of REDtone’s core values. I place great emphasis on the creation of a “learning and growing” environment for REDtoners by providing learning opportunities across different disciplines to equip them with the skills and knowledge they need for personal growth and career advancement.
To me, the success of a company is not solely defined by achievements but by the positive impact made and how we nurture and develop our employees, empowering them to forge a better life for themselves and their loved ones.
While these are just a few key highlights, many more accomplishments couldn’t be fully captured in this message. As we celebrate the successes of 2023, I am mindful that the future holds new challenges and opportunities. I am humbled by your continuous support, without you, our valued customers, we would not be where we are today.
